Commodity, Currency, Gold, and Equity Market Analysis by Dr. Christian Normann      This website primarily features analysis by Christian Normann.   Dr. Normann is a graduate of Harvard University and Florida Atlantic University, with one of his degrees in Finance and International Business (summa cum laude and 4.0 GPA).    Previously, he was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley, but left in 1999 because he wanted the freedom to do completely independent research and focus on perfecting his own trading style and investment skills.   He first entered the financial markets in early 1995, trading currencies for his own and his family's accounts.  Later, he expanded into equity, commodity, futures, and bond investment and trading, and has extensively studied the history of financial markets going back to their origin centuries ago (covering multiple extraordinary mania periods and subsequent busts).   The analysis presented on www.normannfinancial.com is done to the best of our ability, but any trading and investment decisions made by those who view the content published on this website are exclusively their own responsibility.  It cannot be emphasized too strongly how crucial it is to have discipline with regard to proper position sizing and the consistent use of stop-loss orders that automatically exit a trade before it goes too far in the wrong direction.  The best analysis possible will ultimately prove futile unless proper risk management is exercised.  In our opinion, position sizes (particularly in individual stocks) should normally never exceed 10% of a person's account value, and margin should only be used by very experienced investors.  Additionally, through the diligent use of stop-loss orders entered as soon as any significant position is taken, no more than 2% of a person's account value should be risked on any one position.   Dr. Normann may be contacted via email: dr.normann@post.harvard.edu
